TRANSPORTATION
Dublin International Airport is approximately 12km north of Dublin City Centre. The short-haul flights are operated to and from Terminal 1 (T1), while the long-haul flights are operated from Terminal 2 (T2). Anyone flying from the U.S. will arrive into Terminal 2 (T2). When you arrive at Dublin Airport, the best ways to get to The Shelbourne Hotel are by Taxi or Aircoach (24-hour Private Bus Operator).
Taxi
Location
At Terminal 1, the taxi rank is located outside the Arrivals Hall (Level 1) building on the right-hand side as you exit.
At Terminal 2, from the Arrivals Hall, follow the signs for the taxi rank by walking straight through the glass tunnel and take the escalator on your right-hand side or the elevator on your left-hand side to the level below and look for the taxi rank sign.
Time & cost
A taxi will take about 25 minutes from the Airport to The Shelbourne Hotel and the costs should be approximately EUR 35-40. The taxi ranks are well managed by Dublin Airport staff who will be able to find you a taxi big enough for your party and your luggage(s). There may be a line but don’t be discouraged as it moves very quickly.
Payment
Taxis accept major credit cards are widely accepted by most taxis but it’s a good idea to have some Euro to hand for cases where only cash is accepted, or specific credit cards are not accepted cards.
Taxi Option
Uber is now in Ireland but it’s not as frequent and as regular as the Free Now taxi service. Download the Free Now app to your phone for ease of use on your arrival. However, from the airport, using the taxi rank rather than the app is the most straightforward way of getting to The Shelbourne Hotel.
Aircoach
Location
From Dublin Airport:
Terminal 2 (T2): Upon exiting the baggage reclaim area to the Arrivals Hall please follow signs for buses and coaches, go across the glass tunnel and then exit down the escalator and look for the Aircoach stop.
Time & cost
The Aircoach is a 24-hour Private Bus Operator and will take about 35 to 40 minutes from the Airport to The Shelbourne Hotel and the costs are EUR 10 for a single ticket and EUR 12 for a return ticket. Route 700 is the relevant route to The Shelbourne Hotel.
Payment
You can purchase your ticket at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 Aircoach departure stands. You may also purchase your ticket from your driver when boarding the coach or online at www.aircoach.ie.

Make sure you ask for the bus that goes to Kildare Street, Dublin City Centre as there are other Aircoach routes to different locations. Drop off is at the Kildare Street Aircoach stop, which is adjacent to The Shelbourne Hotel.
