
CW3 Brandon M. Mendez
CW3 Mendez was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He enlisted into the United States Army in February of 2007 as a Signal Support System Specialist (25U). He completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In April of 2016, he was selected as an Informationās Services Technician and attended Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) at Fort Rucker, Alabama followed by The Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Chief Mendez initial assignment in 2007-2010 was with the 5-1 Cavalry Squadron, Fort Wainwright, Alaska where he served as a Radio Retransmission Operator and a Forward Signal Support NCO. From 2010- 2012, he served as a Communications Section Chief at 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Chief Mendez final enlisted assignment was from 2012-2016 at United States Southern Command, Miami, Florida as a Geographic Combatant Commanders Communication NCO. In 2017 Following the completion of WOBC, Chief Mendez attended the Ranger Assessment Selection Program (RASP) 2, where he was specially selected to serve as the Information Services Technician for 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. In 2020, Chief Mendez PCS to RS6, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as the Senior Informationās Services Technician. During his tenure in Ranger Regiment, he deployed four times as a Joint Special Operations Task Force J6 Senior Warrant.
Currently, CW3 Mendez serves in the Senior Technical Advisor for the Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE), Tampa, Florida. Chief Mendez military education includes Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC), Warrant Officer Basic Course, Special Operations Network Operating Course (SONOC), Ranger Assessment Selection Program 2, Ranger Course, Airborne School, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (SERE- High Risk) Course, Signal Digital Master Gunners Course. He holds an Associate Degree in Information Technology from Keiser University, Miami, Florida. He has also accomplished Information Technology and management levels described in DOD 8570 civilian certificates: CCNP Route, CCNA, CCNA Security, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA A+.
Chief Mendez awards and decorations include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal ā Combat (2OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (w/numeral2), Ranger Tab, and Parachutist Badge.
